Some parents and their LGBTQ kids will be on the same page about Christian theology; but in many cases, disagreements about Christianity, sexual ethics, or gender identity are an inescapable part of the parent/child relationship after a child's coming out. Though some people argue that loving family relationships can't survive major theological differences, we believe that love for Jesus can—and must!—motivate us to love one another well. In this webinar, we'll hear from Thaleia and Carter Sawatzky, a mom-and-adult-child duo who are deeply committed to loving each other and staying in relationship despite significant differences in their understanding of Christian theology. They'll share how they've navigated hard conversations and offer words of encouragement to other parents and LGBTQ kids who are struggling to stay connected.
