The Christian conversation about gender ethics and transgender identities is full of feirce debates: Are cross-sex hormones or surgeries ever ethically permissible for a Christian who experiences gender dysphoria? What should discipleship look like for a transgender person who becomes a Christian? What pronouns can or should Christians use for one another? What policies should Christian organizations have for trans people in leadership roles, single-sex small groups, bathroom facilities, and more? Some Christians avoid these debates in order to stay in relationship with people who disagree. Other Christians wade into the debates and sacrifice their relationships in the process. In this webinar, we’ll explore a third choice: entering into honest, loving conversation about our different views in order to stay in relationship with each other. Our dialogue partners for this conversation will be Seda Collier and Dr. Preston Sprinkle, two friends with very different backgrounds who disagree on some of these topics. They’ll model for us how fruitful disagreement on these topics can coexist with mutual love and respect.
